Happy Birthday B

B celebrated his 5th birthday this past weekend. We had quite the birthday bash! He had a Star Wars themed party with his friends on Friday. We started out with the kids practicing their light sabre moves while Star Wars music played in the background. When the music stopped, the kids had to freeze. We then played several rounds of "Darth Darth Vader" (duck duck goose) so all the kids could get a turn. We then had them all go downstairs to find moonrocks. I had wrapped their party prizes in tinfoil balls that looked like rocks. After all the kids had their toys, we brought out the "Death Star" pinata, which was really just a mexican star pinata. As everyone ate their candy, B opened his presents. We sent all the kids home with a cupcake, because anyone who knows me will know that I would never let 10 little kids eat cupcakes inside my house. Lets hope for better weather next year.....

On Saturday B had a family party with all his grandparents and some of his aunts and uncle. B was excited to show them all the Tag reader that we got him for his gift. I have to admit, I am impressed with that toy. If I am going to spend that much on a plaything, then at least it should be educational. It exceeded my expectations! B then got to open more presents from everybody. He was so excited about each and every gift he got. I was very excited that he now has clothes for summer!

I am so grateful to have this little boy in my life. From the day he was born, he has been difficult for me, but that is only because we are so much alike. I see so many parts of me in him, but a lot of his own personality too. I am excited to see him grow and progress. I love him so much and hope that every year just gets better and better for him. Happy Birthday B !

Gavin loved the party. He informed me when he got home that he wanted a Star Wars party for his next birthday.
