Twilight

So I was a little (okay, a lot) excited to see the Twilight movie. I am one of those people who totally loved the books, and I have been scouting the Internet weekly to get my vampire fix. Well, I got a group of girlfriends together to see the movie last night. I LOVED IT!!! It has been about a year since I read the book, so I had a hard time remembering what got left out, and what events happen in the second book, but I was pleased with how it turned out. There has been a lot of criticism online of the movie, so I will put two complaints to rest. One: some complain that the dialogue is cheesy. Well, the characters are teenagers! They aren't going to be spouting Shakespear. Second: There is criticism that Robert Patterson who plays Edward is not attractive. Well, I don't know what they did to the lighting and camera angles, but he looks pretty darn attractive in the movie! All in all, I left the movie wanting to see it again. Anyone want to go?

Preschool Thanksgiving Feast

Our little preschool had a party to celebrate Thanksgiving. We all got together in the church gym for a little feast. First the kids played hide n seek as turkeys. The one who was it could say, "Turkey call" and the kids who were hiding had to gobble. It was pretty funny to watch all the kids run and hide in the same spot each time.

We then helped (meaning we did all the work) the kids make pilgrim hats. B kept saying his was a pirate hat. That encouraged all the boys to wear their pirate hats. Christopher liked his hat alot too. Both boys wore them around the house for a while when we got home.

We then helped the kids weave placemats. We gave them plates with cheese, apples, carrots, mashed potatoes, and turkey. Christopher was so content to sit and eat for almost 30 minutes straight! After eating, the kids were able to decorate turkey shaped cookies with frosting and sprinkles. Christopher, surprising enough, didn't want to eat his cookie. He kept munching on carrots and picked the candy corn off his cookie. Oh, darn. I couldn't let a good cookie go to waste! Check out the pics of all the kids and their siblings enjoying the meal.

A little gem from B

So Ben and I decided to take the boys to see Madagascar 2 yesterday for our FHE. They have recently been watching the first one at home, and it was pretty funny to see Christopher running around the house singing "I yike to moobit, moobit!" Benjamin added his own twist to the song, and would shake his bum and sing, "I like to poot it poot it." How charming. The best is the conversation we had in the car on our way to the movie:

B: Mom, there is something on my jacket.
Me: I'm sorry B. We'll fix it when we get out of the car.
B: I think it might be a booger.
Me: Well, just leave it alone for now
B: Oh, don't worry mom. It's just a piece of my fingernail
Me: Okay B.
B: Mom, it's good when things aren't boogers.
