Mother's Day

I have had so much great stuff going on lately, that I haven't posted any of it yet! I forget how blogger works sometimes, so my posts are not in the right order, but here's what we have been up to. Scroll down to see it all!

I do want to say that I had a great Mother's Day. B gave me the sweetest poem with a vase he painted at preschool that had daffodils in it made out of egg cartons. It was the best present I have ever had for Mother's Day!! Thanks Carol, I know you put the most work into it :)

My mom also came up to spend some time with us for her birthday. Since her B-day is so close to mother's day, we always kind-of merge the two together into some time off she takes from work. The two of us planted our pots with flowers, and I added a few more to the yard. Thanks Ben for letting me go to town on flowers and not complaining about it.

The Saturday before mother's day I went down to West Jordan to host a bridal shower for my big sister with my little sister. It turned out just great, and for once the weather cooperated with our plans! Eight more days Halie......

On Mother's day Ben and I ended up actually sleeping in, since our "alarm clock" aka Christopher , climbed into bed with us and slept in. We woke up just before 8 for our 9 oclock church! Despite the rush, Ben still managed to make me my favorite breakfast -french toast! He did all the cooking and cleaning and got kids ready as I just prepared myself. The boys had colored cards for me, but they were so attached to them that they had a hard time actually giving them to me. We actually made it for sacrament, thanks to a baby blessing that day :) After church Christopher and I climbed into my bed for a little post-church snooze. We were supposed to meet Ben's parents at a park for lunch that afternoon at 3:00. I woke up just past that with a note taped to the phone that said "meet us at the park when you wake up." I got another great gift from Ben -sleep. Is there a gift any better than that?

Christopher and I headed to the park for a great picnik with Ben's family. The sun was out, and the boys were having a ball throwing rocks in the water and feeding the ducks. After we were done, we headed home and spread out a blanket in the backyard. I enjoyed the Sunday paper while Ben and the boys wrestled in the grass and jumped on the tramp. It was such a perfect day! I really appreciate my family and the great little life we have. I couldn't have asked for anything more.
