There have been a few events at our home that needed some investigation. I have presented 3 incidents for your consideration.
Incident 1
Mommy has fallen asleep on the couch, and Daddy has done the same on the recliner. Mommy is woken by gentle nudging and someone saying, "I eed a canee pweese." Mommy awakens to see her little boy drooling chocolate all over his face, down his chin, and all over his shirt. Little boy has found the neighbor gifts and helped himself to a few pieces. To his credit, he has put all the wrappers in the chocolate covered garbage can :)
Incident 2
Mommy makes a delicious roast turkey for Christmas Eve dinner. All of the turkey is devoured, except for about 5 or 6 pieces which are lovingly placed in a ziploc bag for an appreciative daddy. The day after Christmas, mommy walks upstairs to check on her unusually quiet child. Upon reaching the kitchen, she discovers the fridge door is open, and a quiet rustling sound coming from the oldest child's bedroom. Mommy calls out to her little boy, who comes walking around the corner holding a ziplock bag of turkey in one hand, and is chomping on a piece of the turkey from the other hand. Little boy takes turkey out of his mouth and says, "I eed da chi-ken."
Incident 3
Daddy has decided to hard boil a few eggs to keep in the refrigerator as snacks. Daddy and mommy both enjoy the eggs, and coax their littlest boy into trying a piece. Little boy tastes the egg, and refuses another bite. The next day, mommy and daddy are playing Wii games in the basement with the older child, while the youngest boy runs upstairs to "Get a chocky milk." A few minutes later, little boy comes running down the stairs, chocolate milk in hand, and says to mommy, "I bide da heg." Mommy and Daddy look at him, and shrug their shoulders. Later, the family proceeds up the stairs to prepare for bedtime. As mommy nears the kitchen, she notices little white bits and pieces all over the kitchen floor near the fridge. Opening the fridge door, she discovers many more white pieces and a discarded hard boiled egg on the bottom shelf of the fridge. Mommy concludes that littlest child was trying to tell her he bit the egg.
Each of these scenarios involve the same suspect, and each have the same theme: Food. I have reviewed the cases thoroughly and come to the following conclusions. 1. I am not providing enough food. 2. I am not providing enough supervision. In either case, I am at fault, and really I just don't like that answer. Please provide your insight on these cases and any solutions you might have.
