Happy Easter everyone! We started out this morning by B running into our bedroom to tell us the "Happy Easter Bunny" had come to his house and left him spiderman eggs!! Every time B refers to the Easter Bunny, it is the HAPPY Easter Bunny. Anyways, after waking up Halie and getting Christopher out of the crib, the children were cut loose to find their eggs. Christopher was quite content to shake the eggs like a rattle, until he figured out that there was candy inside making that sound. From then on, any time he shook an egg and it made a sound, he would take it to Halie and she would open it and give him a jelly bean. He did this about 20 times, and then I had to cut him off. The boys were enjoying their candy and gifts when B noticed that I had a package of marshmellow peeps in my basket. ( I love to eat the nasty little birds, especially when you open the package and let them get a little hard. You know what I mean, Mom!) So Ben got really excited, because his favorite part of Easter is to blow up a peep in the microwave. He said to B, "Do you want to see something really cool?" B followed him into the kitchen, and Ben put a peep on a plate and stuck it in the microwave. B got a really concerned look on his face. when Ben started the microwave, B got really upset! "No daddy, don't hurt the birdie" he cried. He started to hit Ben and told him to stop, then he ran away to his room crying that Daddy had hurt the birdie. When Ben went into his room to hurry and console him, I grabbed a new peep and stuck it on a plate and took it into him to show him the the birdie was just fine. Needless to say, I am going to have to eat them in secret when B is not looking. So, now B thinks his daddy is a birdie killer,(how much therapy will this cost?) but in a few years he will think it's the coolest thing ever. The funniest part, was that while B was crying, I kept telling him that the bird was just a marshmellow. Well, Christopher loves marshmellows, so he was running around the kitchen yelling "Meesh-mem-0, Meesh-mem-o." I have one child who wants to save the birdie and one who wants to eat it.

Fabulous! Why oh why was I not aware you could do this to marshmallow peeps?!
Gross! I can't believe you eat those nasty birds. Your Easter pictures are really cute.
Yup...gotta love those "peeps" after a good long drying out. Grandma better get her birdies out of sight when you come for a visit.
That's hilarious about the peep! Another thing we neglected to get this Easter! Oh Well!
